20 Years and Counting…

09 Aug

“Twenty years”. Wow, that sounds like a lot of time.

This summer, LeAnna and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe how fast 20 years went by and I’m left wondering, what the heck just happened? As LeAnna and I reflect on our journey,  we feel genuinely blessed. Reminiscing back to the first time we met, our wedding day,  and those unforgettable moments when both of our wonderful children were born- it’s been a great journey. In those 20 years we have had our share of UP’S and DOWN’S, but at the end of the day we know that we know it’s only by God’s grace we have made it through.

We decided that it would be fitting to renew our vows with some of our family and close friends present.  So on June 26th, in the beautiful state of Oregon, we renewed our commitment to each other and promised once again to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.  The cool part about the ceremony was that Caleb, my 15 year old son was my best man and Kirsten, our beautiful 12 year old daughter, was LeAnna’s maid of honor.  After the ceremony LeAnna and I jumped on a plane, (left both kids with the in-laws) and headed to Puerto Vallarta for a second honeymoon. These unforgettable moments will be treasured for years to come.

I guess my only hope is that the next 20 years I take a little more time to enjoy the journey and not spend most of it working so hard… Like that will happen!

This was truly a blessing for me to read as I am a newly wed and I love to see stories of marriages lasting…and not ending up in divorce like soooo many people do. My grandparents are celebrating their 60th this next weekend, August 28th, 2010…and I just want to encourage you: keep God over your lives and you, too, will be seeing many, many years together!!!

    Cheers
    Katt and Rob

PS I just love coming into your coffee shop at the WalMart pit stop!
