The Chacon family has been producing specialty coffee in the fertile volcanic soil of Alajuela, Costa Rica for over 80 years.  Their estate, Las Lajas, is a pioneer and leader in environmentally sustainable coffee farming practices.  Before the term "organic" was widely used they became the first organically farmed coffee grown within the region.
