How many years has Durango Joe’s been in existence?
The first Durango Joe’s Coffee opened in April of 2004 in Durango, Colorado. Since 2004 we have opened 6 more locations existing in Durango, Colorado, Farmington, New Mexico and Bloomfield, New Mexico.

Do I receive guidance on the purchase of coffee beans and other foods and supplies?
Yes. High quality products are essential for our concept. Durango Joe’s will provide you with a full purchasing program. We will supply a listing of all our Inventory Accounts, which will enable you to order high quality products and share in the pricing we attain because of our buying volume. You must buy coffee beans from our authorized distributor.

Do I need prior experience in the retail coffee business?
Previous experience managing a retail business is a great advantage and the preferred route to becoming a Durango Joe’s Coffee Partner. However, with our extensive training program and years of experience we will get you ready to operate a Durango Joe’s Coffee store.

What are the financial requirements to become a Durango Joe’s Partner?
We require an approximate net worth of $250,000 including $35,000 in cash on the day of opening your own Durango Joe’s Coffee Drive Thru.

How much is the Licensing Agreement fee?
The Licensing Agreement fee is $25,000 for a full line Coffee Drive Thru.

What is the length of my Licensing Agreement?
The initial term of the Licensing Agreement will match the term of your lease.

What is the investment required to open a Durango Joe’s business?
The total initial investment to own a Durango Joe’s drive-thru is $215,000. This includes:
•   A $25,000 Licensing Agreement fee
•   A New Drive Thru Coffee building, specially designed for a double drive thru coffee shop with state of the art features.
•   Fully furnished with top of line coffee equipment, refrigeration and much more.
•   Management training
•   Product Support
•   Prime location – easy in and out access.
•   Fantastic traffic count – over 30,000 cars a day
•   A completely turn key operation set up for your success.
•   Established clientele.

Is financing available for my Durango Joe’s business?
Yes. Several outside financing companies provide both SBA and more traditional finance lending to qualified partners in the Durango Joe’s system. Durango Joe’s does not offer direct financing.

How much is the monthly royalty fee and marketing fee?
The royalty fee is 5% of net sales or $1,200.00 flat fee a month—whichever is greater. In addition, there is a marketing fee that is 1 percent of gross sales.

Is there a training program?
Yes. Upon execution of your franchise agreement, and prior to your store opening, you and or your operating partner will receive comprehensive training. This comprehensive training program covers every aspect of operations including purchasing, merchandising, hiring, and product knowledge. There is no additional fee for the training at this time.

Do you have opportunities for multi-unit development?
Yes. For qualified individuals, we have multi-unit development opportunities under a separate Area Development Agreement.
